University Counsel Office Mission:

To proactively support the University's vision, mission and values and strategic plan by providing legal counsel, training, effective risk management and other assistance to institutional representatives

Legal Counsel and Assistance:

We provide legal counsel and assistance exclusively to Grand Valley State University representatives regarding University matters. All requests for legal services on behalf of the University must be directed to the University Counsel Office. If you need personal legal advice or representation with regard to a personal matter, you may be able to obtain information or assistance from the resources listed in this link: Personal Legal Services Attorney-Client Privilege:

Communications with the University Counsel Office are protected by the privilege for attorney-client communications, and therefore are confidential, if they are made for the purpose of seeking legal advice and assistance on behalf of the University.
