What do you like most about teaching at Grand Valley?
Interacting with students. It's a position where you make a difference in students' lives.
What is your favorite class to teach?
Internal Auditing. The course is a lot different than students expect. It really opens their eyes up to what is going on in the real world.
What do students like best about your class?
They like the real-world perspective that I can bring to the class.
How do you contribute to the success of your students?
I am very focused on what I think they need to know when they leave here. I give them assignments that are more like what they will get in the real world.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
The next four years of your life will determine the lifestyle you have for the next 40 years of your life.
What is the most rewarding aspect about teaching at Grand Valley?
The personal connection with students. We are able to do things at Grand Valley that a lot of other institutions cannot in terms of getting close to students; I am able to help them get jobs and decide where to go to grad school.
