Grand Valley State University
Grand Valley is located in beautiful West Michigan, close to the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan and the cultural opportunities of Michigan's second largest city, Grand Rapids. With a residential campus in Allendale, and a downtown campus in Grand Rapids, Grand Valley is just a few hours from Detroit and Chicago. GVSU has consistently been hailed as one of the top universities both in the Midwest and the country by the Princeton Review. Grand Valley is also a leader in the GREEN initiative and boosts twelve LEED certified buildings, including the State-of-the-art Mary Idema Pew Learning and Information Commons.
With Grand Valley's main campus in Allendale less than 15 miles away from the second largest city in Michigan, and the cultural hub of West Michigan, students will be able to experience both the sub-rural setting of GVSU and the urban setting of Grand Rapids. Students will also be able to travel easily to and from the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). The Seminar runs a FREE shuttle service between the main campus and the airport on the first and last day of the seminar.
Students attending the seminar may choose to stay in the state-of-the-art Neimeyer Living and Learning Center. These on-campus apartments feature individual bedrooms for each student, furnished living room and kitchen, as well as air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Linens are provided for each student. This fee also includes a $25 refundable deposit on room keys, returned to the student after he or she has successfully completed checking out of the dorm room.
Students and faculty will have private catering for the entire seminar, offering a wide selection of meals throughout the course of the week. Vegetarian options will be available.
