Britton Theurer is professor of music at East Carolina University where he teaches applied trumpet, chairs the Theory, Composition, and Musicology department, coaches chamber music, and performs with the East Carolina Brass Quintet and the New Music Camerata.  A performer, composer, and commissioner of new works for brass, Theurer has three compact disks, including a solo recording, Fantasia (Capstone Records); a recording of his composition Hankyu Express as soloist with Seattle Symphony, Gerard Schwarz conducting (MMC); and a 2008 release, Americantus, by Meridian Arts Ensemble of his music for chamber brass (8bells).  Balquhidder, Spring Tree Enterprises, and Brass Press (BIM) have published his music.
