Why did you choose to attend Grand Valley?
After hearing from the community, other practitioners, and previous students about the great quality of the Grand Valley program, such as technology advancements with simulated patients, small group sizes, and connections with professors, I decided to go here. I also like that it is in my hometown.

What do you like best about Grand Valley?
The closeness of everybody. The classes are small so everybody is able to have that family feel. You are able to get to know faculty and your fellow classmates.

Have you been able to incorporate your graduate studies into your job? How?
I previously had a graduate assistantship in the physician assistant program, so I was able to work with students in grades below me in the lab. I got to teach them what I had learned so far in the program. I was also able to work with community alumni and current research that faculty were working on.

How will Grand Valley help you meet your future goals?
They have such a great reputation within the community and that will help with job placement. A lot of the physician assistants that work within the community are from Grand Valley's program or have worked with students from it, so they know what they can expect from students of the program.

How has Grand Valley's faculty made a difference in your graduate experience?
We are able to build great relationships with them. Although faculty, they still maintain clinical hours within the community and so they keep up with medical advancements and will also be great resources for references. They are very well known in the community.

What advice would you give to prospective graduate students?
All the skills that you learned in undergrad, try to maintain those skills in grad school, like being on top of your studies. And build your relationships with faculty, fellow students, and the community. Network so that it will help with job placement. Ask lots of questions and get a wide range of experiences while in school.
