Why did you choose to attend Grand Valley?
I chose to attend Grand Valley because I was looking to go out of state for college. Grand Valley representatives recruit in the Chicago area. So I looked into the school, came here for orientation, and I loved it.

What do you like best about Grand Valley?
I like the organizations. There is a lot of involvement among the community. Also, I like the people that I have encountered - both faculty and students. I always walk around with a smile. I'm very happy being here and knowing the people that I know.

How have you benefited from Grand Valley's liberal education foundation?
Even though some people may not want to take the general education classes, I think they do benefit us. In American society, these are the basic techniques that people need to have. Also, I definitely have had my mind opened to new things from taking different general education classes, even if I wasn't interested in that particular field.

How will Grand Valley help you meet your future goals?
Grand Valley will help me with my future goals because I have made a lot of connections with the faculty here and I think that is definitely a benefit. If I ever need a letter of recommendation or if I need some advice or help, I know I have people I'm comfortable going to. I have a good support system.

How has Grand Valley's faculty made a difference in your college experience?
In terms of the faculty, their involvement with the students is what I greatly appreciate. Both of the people leading the programs ReACT! and Act on Racism are professors. I appreciate that the professors have started organizations and even direct these organizations that they've founded.

What advice would you give to prospective students?
If they have the opportunity to, they should study abroad. I know a lot of the time students' worry about financial support in terms of study abroad, but there are ways to get scholarships and grants to do so. Once someone studies abroad, they will never forget their experiences. Those who studied abroad enjoyed it, and those who didn't study abroad regret it. So, I'm glad I took up studying abroad in South Africa.
