Reminder: You only need to register if you are a transfer student to GVSU.

As a transfer student, you have already experienced the transition to college life, but you need information specific to your new university. Make the most of your Grand Valley experience by attending Transfer Transitions: Your Fall Orientation. you will learn about campus resources available to you and have the opportunity to participate in activities with other students. Now that you are a Laker, we also want you to share in Grand Valley campus traditions.

Transfer Transitions Schedule

8:30-9:00 a.m. Participant check-in and small group assignments, Pere Marquette Room (204 Kirkhof Center).

9:15-11:00 a.m. Discussion with faculty and student leaders about Academic Resources and how to succeed academically at GVSU.  Technology Resources presentation.  Pere Marquette Room (204 Kirkhof Center)

11:00-11:15 a.m. Travel to Fieldhouse Arena

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Convocation Ceremony

12:30-1:30 p.m. All-Campus Community Luncheon (discussion groups led by Transitions Leaders)

1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.  Student Services, Campus Resources, Getting Involved on Campus.  Discussion with Transfer Transitions leaders and University staff.  Pere Marquette Room  (204 Kirkhof Center)

3:00-5:00 p.m. Optional campus tours of Allendale campus and Rapid ride/tour of Pew Campus

The Transitions Program:
  • Prepares each student for the academic rigor of the University.
  • Assists students in meeting people and making connections both and in and out of the classroom.
  • Provides students with an overall knowledge of the resources and services that Grand Valley State University has to offer.
