Grand Valley Orientations on December 19 (both morning and afternoon) are still taking place, even though we anticipate severe winter weather tonight and tomorrow morning.

However, should the highly unusual decision to close the University be made; that decision will not be made until Friday morning. If we close, that announcement will be published on our homepage at  http://www.gvsu.edu/  early in the morning.

Should you decide, based on severe weather and unsafe travel warnings, to NOT attend tomorrow’s orientation; please call 616-331-3796 and we will reschedule you for Final Registration on Friday, January 2, 2009 (afternoon session only). If you are unable to get through, please call 616-331-3959 and leave a message indicating your decision to reschedule, along with your full name, G number (student ID number) and a phone number including area code.

The University will be closed for the Holiday Season on December 24, and will reopen on Friday, January 2, 2009.

Also, if you do decide to reschedule, come prepared to pay your tuition before 5:00 PM on January 2, as classes begin on Monday, January 5, 2009.
