Theatre Studies at Grand Valley

Grand Valley State University’s theatre major offers students a well-rounded liberal arts education focused within a professional context. Housed in the School of Communications, the Theatre major provides a flexible program featuring a core of diverse theatre requirements and electives as well as hands-on theatre experience in all areas of theatre production.

There are also opportunities for workshops and master classes and for international study. In addition, students participate in the annual Grand Valley Shakespeare Festival, Michigan’s oldest and largest Shakespeare festival, which includes various events and an opportunity to work with visiting professionals and scholars.

Performance Studio Series:

GVSU Theatre students hone their skills in all aspects of theatre in these fully staged, student directed and acted productions in an intimate setting on stage in the Louis Armstrong Theatre. For all our PS Series shows, please check our website for more information. All seats $6 in advance, $7 day of show. Seating may be limited so arrive or purchase tickets early!
