WKKF-WW Michigan Teaching Fellowship
Teaching Endorsement Areas
Each Fellow will be required to become endorsed in at least one subject area, a Major endorsement area. Additionally, Fellows will be extended the opportunity to gain a second, Minor endorsement as well. The "Minor" is suggested to give you a greater flexibility but it is optional.
Major Endorsement Areas
For additional information about the courses listed on the individual guides for each of the endorsement areas please visit the GVSU Undergraduate and Graduate Catalog. You can search for individual courses by course number or course name in the search bar on the upper right hand side of the online catalog. Some Fellows will have a teachable minor upon entrance into the program while others may be working on it prior to enrolling in the program or while teaching.
In addition to meeting the course requirements for your major, you will have to take and pass the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) in your major as well as the MTTC basic skills tests. Basic skills MTTC tests are usually taken prior to coming into the program while subject matter tests usually are taken during the first summer of your program. For more information about the MTTC tests, dates and registration go the http://www.mttc.nesinc.com
Also, for more information on how the WKKF-WW Michigan Teaching Program at GVSU will determine whether a prospective Fellow will qualify for a specific Major or Minor endorsement area, visit the Eligibility Requirements page.
