Social Work Continuing Education

Dr. Salvador Lopez-Arias is an assistant professor at GVSU's School of Social Work.  He earned his MSW at GVSU and his doctorate in counseling psychology at Western Michigan University.  Dr. Lopez-Arias has 15 years of clinical experience and also worked in program development/evaluation, clinical supervision and consultation, diversity training, and strategic planning.  He has done an extensive environemtal research scan of current Kent County social services with a focus on "the attitudes toward seeking professional psychological help" - specifically of Latinos, but also of people in general.  He has extensive involvement in social justive and advocacy for those in need.
