Veterans Traumatic Brain Injury and Polytrauma Online Course

Training Summary:

This online course will offer 3 modules:
Module #1 – TBI Physiological Symptom Control and Interdisciplinary Care Team focuses on  the physiological symptoms unique to returning OIF/OEF/OND wounded warriors associated 
with blast-incurred neurological trauma sustained military operations including TBI, comorbidities such as PTSD and other polytraumatic injuries. Up to 4 clock hours are available.

Module #2 – Cognitive & Behavioral Health provides education regarding the cognitive and behavioral difficulties that Wounded Warriors with a TBI experience when returning from combat. Three problems will be addressed: PTSD, depression and suicide and substance abuse. Up to 4 clock hours are available.

Module #3 – Case Management and Community Reintegration focuses on coordination of services for wounded warriors from governmental agencies, community, local and regional agencies, spiritual organizations and agencies, and other professional agencies that assist and facilitate their self-efficacy and return to productive family, social and occupational roles and responsibilities. Up to 3 clock hours are available.

Cost: $5/hour earned
CECHs: Grand Valley State University School of Social Work is an approved provider with the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative-Provider MICEC-0004. This program is available for up to 11.0 hours.
