Alum takes knowledge to Big Ten
The month of March was truly madness for Grand Valley alumnus Josh Munk, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Munk started a new job in February 2011 at the Big Ten Conference as associate director of football operations. Because his duties also include serving as assistant director for men's and women's conference basketball tournaments, Munk was quite busy during March at the tournaments in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Munk had worked for Grand Valley as assistant athletic director for game and event operations. He said the Lakers' string of postseason appearances, tournaments and championships prepared him well for the rigors of the Big Ten.
"Working at Grand Valley was an amazing experience and provided me with the opportunity to oversee several postseason conference and NCAA events," he said. "That postseason game management experience was a great asset in getting me to where I am at today."
Munk earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Grand Valley in 1999 and a master’s degree in sports management from Central Michigan University.
