Currently, there are 3 GVSU students studying on Boren Scholarships:

Christy Bechtel, in Amman, Jordan

Dallas Davis, in Cluj, Romania

Boren Scholars and Fellows can receive support for study abroad, language study, internships or independent or mentored research outside of the US and Western Europe.

Boren also offers special initiatives for STEM majors, ROTC and student veterans.

Boren Scholars and Fellows represent a vital pool of highly motivated individuals who wish to work in the federal national security (broadly defined to include diplomacy, trade, STEM fields and any federal government agencies) arena. In exchange for funding, Boren recipients commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after the completion of their graduate studies or within 5 years of receiving their fellowship.
