Are you interested in studying abroad in Ghana? Attend this info session!

Representatives from GVSU partner university, University of Cape Coast, Ghana, will be giving a presentation on the university and answering questions.

About this program:

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) was established in 1962 primarily to serve as a leader in teacher education in Ghana.  Since its inception as a teacher-training university, UCC has diversified into many other disciplines and is considered one of the leading universities in Ghana. This program offers students a full immersion into Ghanaian culture and higher education. Students will have classes and live with their Ghanaian counterparts.

Home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites, Cape Coast, Ghana is steeped in tradition and history. Ttwo of the most historical sites in Ghana, Elmina Castle and Cape Coast Castle, are located just a short distance from the university. Students will be a short distance from Cape Coast town where they will have access to local markets and shops. Located across the street from the Gulf of Guinea, students will have access to beautiful beaches and breath-taking views of the ocean.

Students interested in volunteer opportunities to enhance their experience and connect with the nearby community will find many options available. Past participants have volunteered in local schools, health clinics, and nearby villages on various projects. Tthe Center for International Education will help you find a placement to suit your interests.
