Study Abroad Theme

CREATE YOUR OWN THEME ABROAD
Option 1: Complete and entire Theme abroad
  •     Take all 3 theme courses abroad. Courses must have a common focus and must represent 3 different academic disciplines.
  •    Students who wish to create a study abroad theme are encouraged to propose a theme focused on the host culture or country where they plan to study. Students are not required to focus on the host culture, but these tend to be the most successful proposals.
Option 2: Take 2 courses abroad and 1 at GVSU
  • Take 2 theme courses abroad and 1 at GVSU. Courses may have a common focus and represent 3 different academic disciplines.
  • Students who wish to create a study abroad theme are encouraged to propose a theme focused on the host culture or country where they plan to study. Students are not required to focus on the host culture, but these tend to be the most successful proposals.
  • To submit a proposal to take 2 courses abroad and 1 course at GVSU you will be creating your own theme. Select the link Create your own Theme abroad to get started.
FINISH AN EXISTING GVSU THEME ABROAD

Option 3: Take 2 courses at GVSU and 1 abroad
  • Take 2 courses at GVSU and 1 course abroad. Students will identify an existing GVSU theme they would like to complete. To view existing GVSU themes click here.
  • Students who wish to FINISH the theme abroad will need to find a course(s) offered by the overseas institution that will fit with the focus of one of the existing GVSU themes.
  • To submit a proposal to finish the theme abroad, you will be required to complete the required proposal form. Select the link Finish an Existing GVSU Theme Abroad to get started.
