"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." - Augustine Congratulations! You have made the decision to study abroad, and are now in the midst of preparing for your departure. First and foremost, we want to commend you for making a decision to take on this exciting opportunity. The greatest contribution that can be made to world peace is understanding more about others. And there is no better way to learn about the world and the people who share it than by first-hand experience; that is , by studying overseas. It is the intent of this guide to assist you with your pre-departure questions and concerns and to offer guidance where possible. It would be nearly impossible for us to prepare you for every single situation that you may confront while you are abroad. The goal of this guide is to ensure that you have the tools and resources to be a well-informed traveler and that you have taken into consideration necessary steps in planning for your sojourn abroad. We would like to encourage you to utilize the resources available to you in the Padnos International Center, which include staff support, travel guides, and other helpful information. We are proud of you. You are among a select group of students who have made the commitment to see the world despite the financial and time constraints that it presents. We know you will continue to make us proud by preparing yourself as best you can to have a great learning experience abroad. |
