India - University of Hyderabad
(Non GVSU Programs)
Founded in 1964, the American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) provides Study Abroad programs in 21 countries. AIFS partnership in India is with the University of Hyderabad. India is a fascinating mix of ancient cultures and traditions, intriguing religions, and over 200 languages and dialects, combined with 21st-century technology and a growing international economy. Second only to China in population size, it is poised to become an ever larger player on the world stage. As the modern capital of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad embodies a confluence of Hindu and Muslim culture, offering a rare opportunity to experience the cultural traditions of both these faiths, while simultaneously living in a modern, cosmopolitan city. Since 1998, the University of Hyderabad, one of India’s premier institutions of post graduate teaching and research, has offered foreign students a special program – the Study in India Program (SIP). This is an interdisciplinary program emphasizing heritage, continuity and change in India. Content courses are taught in English.
