The West Michigan World Trade Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining West Michigan’s competitive edge in the global marketplace. As part of this commitment, the organization wishes to encourage students to expand their academic knowledge by offering them scholarships for qualified study abroad programs.
The Grand Rapids Alliance Françoise seeks to support the study of the French language and culture through its scholarship program. A $1200scholarship will be awarded this year to an individual who has shown an interest and proficiency in the French language and culture.
The purpose of this scholarship is to further strengthen the close and friendly relations between the Umbra Institute, the City of Perugia and her Sister Cities in the United States by making studying abroad in Perugia more affordable for college and university students who are residents of Grand Rapids, Michigan or Seattle, Washington.
Business study abroad scholarship grant awards of up to $2,500 are available for two students pursuing a business degree. Foreign study program must be endorsed and accepted as part of or as a credit course in the applicants degree.
Grand Rapids Community Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships annually primarily to Kent County students bound for or in college, or those pursuing a technical career. Scholarships aimed at undergraduate students may be used for study abroad as long as it is part of the undergraduate program and is paid to a college located within the US.
