Amour Jones Lovelady

Pronouns: She/her/hers

Major: Public and Nonprofit Health

Year: Freshmen

Semesters on WIT: 1

Why did you want to become a Peer Educator? I wanted to become a peer educator because I genuinely care about student wellness, especially during the transition to college. As an 18-year-old student myself, I understand how stressful balancing academics, social life, and personal health can be. I want to help other students make informed, healthy decisions and feel comfortable asking questions. I’m also interested in pursuing a career in the health field, so this role allows me to grow as a leader while making a positive impact on campus.

Campus Involvement: As of now I have participated in community service opportunities, and I have participated in Black Student Union. In the future I definitely want to be more involved and join more clubs.

Top Tip for Being Well: My top tip for being well is making time for yourself, even when you’re busy. College can get overwhelming, so taking small breaks, getting enough sleep, and checking in with yourself mentally makes a big difference.

3 Bucket List Items:

  • Try skydiving
  • Travel more (specifically go to Bora Bora)
  • Invest in myself more
