Outcome SM-A Collaboration

Collaboration (undergraduate): Work together and share the workload equitably to progress toward shared objectives.
Objective 1 Use knowledge of group dynamics to select appropriate roles.
Objective 2 Use knowledge of group management to create effective plans.
Objective 3 Successfully follow the groups plan
Objective 4 Assess contributions of self and others to the group dynamics.

Outcome SM-B Written Communication

Written Communication (undergraduate): Write effectively for multiple purposes and audiences.
Objective 1 Develop content that is appropriate to a specific disciplinary or professional context, drawing upon relevant sources.
Objective 2 Organize written material to suit the purposes of the document and meet the needs of the intended audience.
Objective 3 Express ideas using language that meets the needs and expectations of the intended audience.
Objective 4 Use conventions of grammar, punctuation, usage, formatting, and citation appropriate to the specific writing situation.

Outcome SM-C Ethical Reasoning

Students will demonstrate effective practice in ethical judgment and respect in the human experience as it relates to sport management.
Objective 1 Successfully review and create written analyses of case studies involving ethical judgment in sport management.
Objective 2 Demonstrate understanding and competence in practicing good ethics and conduct in field experience placements.

Outcome SM-D Information Literacy

Students can explain concepts important for success in the sport management field and can identify resources that inform management decision-making.
Objective 1 Explain the breath and scope of the sport industry by describing types of sports, settings in which sports are found, models of sport industry segments, and developing a professional perspective.
Objective 2 Explain the psycho-social and socio-cultural aspects of sports integrating fundamental theories and constructs that impact individuals, groups and organizations in sport.
Objective 3 Demonstrate knowledge of current topics in sport management by applying critical thinking skills to address issues related to the topics.
Objective 4 Demonstrate knowledge of sport facility and event management in the context of sport as entertainment to include planning, construction, finance, marketing, safety and legal aspects.
Objective 5 Apply knowledge of sport management administrative principles, organizational structures, leadership and communication theory, workplace culture, and human resource management.
Objective 6 Demonstrate effective practice in Sport Management settings.

Outcome SM-E Research and Analyze

Students will exhibit the ability to research, analyze, and interpret sport studies to effectively address current issues, challenges, and professional strategies in sport management.
Objective 1 Read sport studies and critically analyze article content in the Sports Business Journal related to current topics in the field of sport management
Objective 2 Conduct a review of literature related to a topic in sport management and formulate points of view regarding controversial issues to inform his/her professional position.

Students will exhibit the ability to identify and apply resource information that informs decision-making in the sport management field.
