Outcome SCULPT:A Oral Communication

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture will be able to evaluate sculptural objects within the context of art history and art criticism, emphasizing the range of concepts and strategies used by sculptors.
Objective 1 Students in ART 270 Introduction to Sculpture will articulate the values of aesthetic experience available through sculptural objects.

Outcome SCULPT:B Information Literacy

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture will be able to identify, access, evaluate, and synthesize multiple forms of information.
Objective 1 Students in ART 270 will demonstrate an understanding of sculptural objects within the context of art history and art criticism, emphasizing the range of concepts and strategies used by sculptors.

Outcome SCULPT:C Problem Solving

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture will be able to design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions.
Objective 1 Students in ART 271 Digital 3-D Modeling and Design will be able to create successful solutions using 3-D modeling software and digital fabrication output technology.

Course is made up of General Education and VMA Majors. It was clear that General Education students need more introduction to baseline problem solving skills early on in the course. This is something I'm currently working to resolve in the winter of 2020.

Outcome SCULPT:D Integration

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture will be able to synthesize and apply knowledge, experiences, and multiple perspectives to new, complex situations.
Objective 1 Students in ART 498 Senior Projects will be able to discuss their highly developed body of work in an articulate and comprehensive manner, covering the thematic concept, their importance to the artist, others, and to contemporary culture.

Outcome SCULPT:E Problem Solving

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture will be able to design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions.
Objective 1 Students in ART 371 Intermediate Sculpture I, with a focus on fabrication, will focus on effective choices for creating and solving problems, realizing that creative process involves the development of ideas (not simply having ideas) and how to take advantage of the connectedness of intellect and imagination.

Outcome SCULPT:F Integration

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture will be able to synthesize and apply knowledge, experiences, and multiple perspectives to new, complex situations.
Objective 1 Students in ART 472 Advanced Sculpture I demonstrate the synthesis of ideas in a series of related sculptural pieces, related by material/process or conceptual similarities.
