Outcome PRINTMAK-A Problem Solving

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking will be able to design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions.
Objective 1 Students in ART 265 Introduction to Printmaking will be able to apply the basic techniques of monotype, dry point, hard and soft ground etching, aquatint, relief and well-crafted printing to create printed works of art.

We assessed 33 students from two sections (one from Winter 2018, and one from Fall 2018) of ART 265 Intro to Printmaking and found that we met our Target of 90%, as 96% scored in the "Progressing" or "Satisfied" categories.

Outcome PRINTMAK:B Critical Thinking

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking will be able to use systematic reasoning to examine and evaluate information and ideas and then synthesize their conclusions to propose new perspectives and solutions.
Objective 1 Students in ART 366 Intermediate Printmaking I will be able to apply creative solutions to the print matrix and printed form.

76%, or more than three quarters, of students in this class demonstrated appropriate levels of critical thinking. 23% did not.

Outcome PRINTMAK:C Integration

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking will be able to synthesize and apply knowledge, experiences, and multiple perspectives to new, complex situations.
Objective 1 Students in ART 367 Intermediate Printmaking II will be able to identify unique potentials of printmaking and be able to put them to use in the making of unique and multiple prints.

Outcome PRINTMAK:D Oral Communication

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking will be able to effectively communicate verbally with a public audience across a variety of contexts.
Objective 1 Students in ART 265 Introduction to Printmaking will be able to critically evaluate and articulate design and process as it relates to prints.

Outcome PRINTMAK:E Collaboration

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking will be able to work together and share the workload equitably to progress toward shared objectives, learned through structured activities that occur over a significant period of time.
Objective 1 Students in ART 467 Advanced Printmaking I will exhibit leadership skills in maintaining a collaborative studio environment.

Outcome PRINTMAK:F Problem Solving

Graduates of Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking will be able to design and evaluate strategies to answer open-ended questions.
Objective 1 Students in ART 265 Introduction to Printmaking will be able to effectively apply principles of design and sensitivity to the print medium toward the creation of images.
