Outcome GSI A Global Knowledge

Knowing major concepts in global studies, prevailing global issues, and globalization in historical context.
Objective 1 Demonstrate knowledge of major topics, themes and interdisciplinary perspectives in Global Studies and of the issues and challenges of order/disorder, justice/injustice in a global world.

Outcome GSI B Global Awareness

Understanding of how global factors shape lives at different levels of analysis. Sees
interconnections (social, economic,
political, etc.) between different human communities along with the global conditions and systems that affect the well-being of
human communities and ecosystems.
Objective 2 Demonstrate an understanding of the social, political, cultural, environmental interconnections between different human communities and the global conditions and systems that affect the well-being of these communities and of ecosystems.

Outcome GSI C Global Empathy and Action

Causes and consequences of differing
types of social inequality (e.g., gender,
race/ethnicity, class) and conflict as well as cooperation, production, resistance and social transformation. Collaborative problem-solving skills to address problems confronting the collective good (e.g. global climate change).
Objective 3 Demonstrate an understanding of the social, political, cultural, environmental interconnections between different human communities and the global conditions and systems that affect the well-being of these communities and of ecosystems.
Objective 4 Identify the causes and consequences of some of the differing types of social inequality and conflict, as well as cooperation, production, resistance and social transformation

Outcome GSI D Interdisciplinary Learning

Recognize the ways different disciplines may overlap in terms of inquiries and methodologies. Ability to blend inquiries and methods of two or more disciplines to develop innovative ways of describing and explaining global phenomena.
Objective 5 Interpret global issues from a variety of different perspectives and from a variety of disciplinary approaches in order to make meaningful connections across disciplines to understand a particular global topic.
