WHAT IS EVENTING?
Eventing is an equestrian triathalon. There are three phases: Dressage, Cross-Country, and Stadium Jumping. The dressage phase is when the rider and horse perform a serires of movements that the rider has memorized ahead of time in front of a judge. The cross-country phase is when horse and rider gallop outside at solid obstacles, which the horse has never seen before. The third and final phase is stadium jumping, this is when the horse and rider jump obstacles in an arena which are not solid, meaning that jump rails can be knocked down and points deducted.
