About
The African Student Council (ASC) at Grand Valley State University is a young, yet vibrant organization.
The purpose of the organization is to 1) bring all the members of the Grand Valley community that identify as African together 2) to embrace all people of all backgrounds wishing to partake in our rich culture and 3) to educate people-African and otherwise-about the continent's history, current affairs and prospects for the futre.
This year's e-board summed up the mission statement as being Family; Education: Involvement. We aim to build a united, informed generation that is willing to get involved in its community. Over and above our own programs, ASC also participates in Grand Valley traditions (football games, family weekend, Make A difference Day etc).
But hey, don't take my word for it!! Come hear what we are about every Monday at 9pm!
