The Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity is one of the largest and most respected fraternities in the nation. Established on December 10, 1899 at the City College of New York being the first to include Jewish and Christians, we have long stood for the time honored traditions created by our founders while also embracing the new century with the philosophy of our exoteric motto, "Better Men. Better Lives." On October 1, 1967 a small group of determined Grand Valley students gathered in Copeland House room 327 and took the first steps towards forming our fraternity by founding Lambda Chi. This local chapter was the first Greek organization on campus and grew until we became a colony of Delta Sigma Phi national fraternity on May 1, 1971. Since our beginnings we have built a strong tradition of leadership and brotherhood at Grand Valley. By joining Delta Sigma Phi you do not simply join an organization, you become part of a way of life. As a Delt Sig you will not only meet new people through our variety of social events, but you will become a better man through our academic and service programs. The capacities of your experiences as a brother within Delta Sigma Phi are endless.
