The Grand Valley State University Water Ski Team was born in 2006 and has since become a powerhouse in the state of Michigan and even the Midwest as a three-event competetive water ski team. Competetive water skiing consists of three events: slalom, trick skiing (or wakeboarding), and jumping for distance. We practice daily at Placid Waters, a private group of lakes just 4 miles off of campus, and we compete at tournaments the first four weekends in the fall.

Skiers of all talent are encouraged to join! The Water Ski Team provides a great place for Grand Valley students to participate in a unique sport as well as to develop lifelong friendships. We would love to see you out at the lake! Our team has all of our own equipment if you don't have your own, including rides to and from the lakes. Whether you are an experienced skier or want to learn for the first time, we have a spot for you! We guarantee that the Water Ski Team offers a great and unique experience!
