8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Van Andel Institute

The Van Andel Institute will be hosting the West Michigan Undergraduate Science Research Conference.  GVSU, Calvin College, Aquinas, and the Van Andel Institute are organizing this new conference which will feature student poster presentations, a keynote address (deputy director of the National Science Foundation) and a research presentation from one faculty member from each of the sponsoring institutions. The day will include poster sessions, presentations, and a free lunch. To access the registration site, visit http://www.vai.org/News/Events/2008/11_01_UndergraduateConference.aspx.

From Dr. Wallar:

"I encourage as many students to attend as have an interest -- including newer students who do not have a poster to present but might benefit from attending an undergraduate-focused research conference. This will be a great opportunity for our students to present their work before a relative large but supportive audience."
