About
Grand Valley's Synchronized Skating Team has been a club sport for the past 10 years. The team is currently competing in the Open-Collegiate division. To compete Open-Collegiate, skaters are required to attend an accredited college/university as a full or part time student. Students at GVSU or surrounding colleges/universities are invited to join our program. The Synchronized Skating Team made its debut in 1998. During its first season the team placed third in the Mid-American Competition, sixth in the University of Michigan Collegiate Competition and seventh at the US Synchronized Skating Nationals. Each season we compete in two to three competitions, perform at the GVSU men's hockey games, skate at the Winterfest festival in downtown Grand Rapids, and perform at one Griffins hockey game.
