Grand Valley State University (GVSU) will welcome alternative rock band Motion City Soundtrack (MCS) and special guest for the school’s Homecoming 2009 Concert on Friday, October 16, 2009.

The concert will take place in the Fieldhouse Arena at GVSU in Allendale, Michigan. Doors will open at 5:45pm with the special guest starting at 7:00pm. The main act, featuring Motion City Soundtrack, will start shortly after.

Students, faculty, staff and alumni tickets can be purchased at the 20/20 Information Desk located in the Kirkhof Center of GVSU’s Allendale Campus. Grand Valley students are $5, Grand Valley faculty, staff, and alumni are $10, General Admission $15. General Admission tickets are also available through Star Tickets Plus.

MCS is an alternative rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their catchy lyrics combined with creative riffs and beats have captured fans everywhere. They have released three studio albums and seven extended plays in the last decade, with many songs for fans to listen and sing along to.

New music is in the works as well; MCS has recently completed the recording of their upcoming fourth studio album titled “My Dinosaur Life.” With a new album coming out soon, students are hoping to get a taste of both new and old MCS music at the Grand Valley’s Homecoming 2009 Concert.
