2012 Homecoming Regent Information
(Subject to change for 2013)
The Homecoming Court and Regents are representatives of the exceptional caliber of students at Grand Valley State University.
The process consist of an application and interview. Five male and five female candidates move on to the court process.
Areas that the selection committee will be using as criteria for selecting five (5) male candidates for Regent and five (5) female candidates for Regent are:
1. Applicant’s interview, considering clarity of expression/speech, awareness of campus issues, future focus/contribution, poise and confidence
2. Academic excellence, considering overall GPA and academic awards and accomplishments
3. GVSU Involvement and Leadership, considering length breadth, depth, and diversity of involvement, overall leadership, accomplishments, and positions held
4. Community Service/Service Learning, considering type of community service, amount of community service, variety of community service
5. Overall Presentation, considering passion for GVSU, ability to represent the University and other considerations contingent on interview and application.
There will be a voting period, in which the University Student Body can select from the Homecoming Court.
The two regents selected will receive a $500 scholarship.
