FINANCIAL AID OFFICE

The FAO awards work-study based on need and/or if you indicated an interest in work-study on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Awarding is limited by the amount of work-study funds the university receives.
PAYROLL OFFICE
201 Lake Michigan Hall Allendale Campus Hours: 8am - 5pm (Mon - Fri) Phone: 616-331-2237 Email: GVSUpayroll@gvsu.eduPayroll Office is responsible for maintaining "UltraTime" time keep system and processing paychecks. They handle the W-4 forms for tax purposes and are responsible for sending out the W-2's at the completion of the calendar year. You must complete W-4 forms prior to starting employment on campus. Direct deposit is highly recommended. The direct deposit form is available online.

The office also coordinates six annual career fairs and assists students in finding internships. They also assist students in preparing a professional resume.

If you were admitted to GVSU as an international student, you will want to check there for information regarding employment restrictions. You will also need to visit this office to complete forms needed to take to Social Security Administration to apply for a Social Security card. You will need a Social Security number to work and be paid on campus.
SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
2nd Floor, 50 College Ave SE Grand Rapids, MI 49503 Phone: 616-742-2373 Toll Free: 1-800-772-1213You need a social security number to work and be paid on campus. Some students use the card to fulfill the Employment Eligibility Verification process (I-9). If you do not have a card or have lost your card, you can apply for a replacement here. You must do that in person. The Social Security Administration Office is less than two miles from PEW campus.
