Student Employee Appreciation Days Each year, GVSU celebrates the National Employment Appreciation Week by engaging student employees in a variety of activities to promote and appreciate all of their hard work. The Student Employment Office hosts a weeklong celebration to thank student Employees for all that they do, in a variety of ways. It is once again time to show GVSU's 3,500 plus student workers how highly they are valued. This year the annual Student Employee Appreciation Days will take place April 8 through April 12, 2013. We've layed out all of the details for each event below. Help us spread the word about this celebration by posting information in your office, encouraging your student workers to attend events, & planning an event of your own! Departments are encouraged to celebrate their student workers on Monday, don't be afraid to get creative!

Monday, April 8
Superheros have it all- spiffy costumes, sidekicks, & superpowers. We don't blame you for dreaming of gearing up in your very own outfit and flying off to fight crime. In fact, we'd like to give your an opportunity to fulfill that dream, without the tights & trip to the emergency room.
Simply:
1.Decorate: your student employee's area/workspace and take a picture.
2.Submit: your photo to studentjobs@gvsu.edu by 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 9.
3.Vote: Take it to the people. Come back to the Student Employment Office website and cast your vote.
*You may want to tell your friends to vote too.. did we mention that the winner will get a pizza party sponsored by Peppinos Pizza?!

While we're sure that your office decor is beautiful, but we've got just what you need to make it even better- a shiny new trophy! Oh, and by the way, the winner of the tournament will also receive an office lunch party sponsored by Jimmy John's- pretty great, right?!
Simply:
1.Recruit a Team: of 6-8 people from your office (supervisors are more than welcome!)
2.Register: your team by 5pm on April 5th by emailing studentjobs@gvsu.edu with your team name & roster.
3.Be Ready to Play: from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Robinson Field on April 10th

Come out to Robinson Field and get free lunch! Swing by around noon and watch the first annual Volleyball Tournament- made up of teams from GVSU departments & their student workers. Bring your co-workers enjoy a volleyball tournament, music, and delicious hot dogs!

Friday, April 12
Come out and watch the Grand Rapids Griffins take on the Milwaukee Admirals. As always, the Griffins will be offering their great beverage and food deal. Tickets are $5 for student employees, $8 for supervisors & guests.
To join in on the fun:
1.Come to the Student Employment Office: at 105 Student Services to purchase your tickets.
2.Pay: with cash or check only.
3.Meet us at the game!
* In order to recieve the discounted employee ticket price, student employees will need to be present for verification. Student employees are allowed to purchase up to 3 guest tickets at the $8 price.
