Tuition Rates and Special Course Fees

2013-2014 TUITION AND FEE SCHEDULE
RATES PER SEMESTER 

Michigan resident, lower division:
$5,227 for 12-15 credits
$435 per credit hour for 1 to 11 credits and for each credit over 15. 

Michigan resident, upper division:  
$5,489 for 12-15 credits
$457 per credit hour for 1 to 11 credits and for each credit over 15.

Michigan resident, masters:  
* $541 - $591 per credit hour depending on program 

Michigan resident, doctoral:
$664 per credit hour

Non-resident, lower division: 
$7,557 for 12-15 credits
$629 per credit hour for 1 to 11 credits and for each credit over 15

Non-resident, upper division: 
$7,831 for 12-15 credits
$652 per credit hour for 1 to 11 credits and for each credit over 15

Non-resident, masters:  
* $731 - $781 per credit hour depending on program

Non-resident, doctoral:
$885 per credit hour

 

Some Grand Valley State University colleges, schools, and departments carry an additional tuition charge per credit hour to offset the higher costs in those particular areas.

Students classified as undergraduates registering for masters and doctorate courses pay undergraduate tuition rates.

Students are classified as upper division upon earning their 55th semester credit.

Students classified as graduates pay their graduate program tuition rate for all courses taken.
