Position Available
POSITION: Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of Statistics
QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. or M.S. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field. A commitment to teaching excellence is required. Candidates must have an interest in using technology in the undergraduate curriculum.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include teaching 4 three-hour courses per semester. Resources are available for professional development, consulting, and research. Employment begins August 2009.
DEPARTMENT: Grand Valley State University and the Department of Statistics emphasize effective teaching and professional development. The department offers an undergraduate major in Statistics and minors in Statistics and Applied Statistics, and a new Professional Science Master’s degree in Biostatistics. In addition, courses are offered in support of university graduate programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Kirkhof College of Nursing, College of Health Professions and the College of Engineering and Computing. The department and university are strongly committed to using technology in teaching at all levels. All classrooms are outfitted with computer display equipment.
