RE:                          MANDATORY MSW FIELD ORIENTATION

As part of your MSW program, you will be required to participate in Field Education.  Field Education will be an opportunity for you to apply social work knowledge, values and skills learned through course work in a real world setting.

Regular Status MSW students complete 990 hours of Field Education over 3 consecutive semesters.  On average, you can expect to spend approximately 21 to 26 hours each week at a Field Education Site.   Field Education for Regular Status MSW students will begin the Spring/Summer 2015 semester.

All MSW students must apply for Field Education.  Field Education Applications for Regular Status MSW students wishing to be placed in a school setting are due to the Field Education Office on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.  Field Education Applications for all other practice areas are due to the Field Education Office on Monday, November 3, 2014.

Prior to applying for Field Education, you must attend a MANDATORY Field Education Orientation that will present information on the process of applying and interviewing for Field Education.   Listed below are the dates and times for four Field Education Orientations.  Please send an email to Professor Deborah L. Ronk, to RSVP for one of these orientations.
