Areas of Specialty
Study of health care issues, particularly chronic illness, barriers to health care, hospice care and HIV.  Chair of the School of Social Work, college, and the  university's international education committees.  Director of the Social Work Global Service Learning.  Over 20 years of experience in providing social work services to: people living with mental illness, people who are homeless, HIV positive and living with cancer.  Instructs the Social Work Health Care and field courses.  Author of Social Work and Health Care text - Allyn & Bacon, expected in 2008.

Community Involvement
Previous board membership on agencies serving abused women and people living with HIV.  Currently a Fidelity Program evaluator.  Conducted research on international perspective on hospice care.
