Areas of Specialty:
Research assessing aging issues among gay men over age fifty, writing protocols, coordinating overall project activities, statistical analysis and writing journal articles in areas such as: HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment; gay/lesbian topics, as well as other general issues affecting social workers and their clients; Faculty advisor for Out and About, GVSU's LGBT student organization; currently working on various diversity and inclusion projects in community organizations.
Community Involvement:
Community work with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community for the past fifteen years in Detroit and Chicago. Helped secure grant funding for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, including mental health services, food voucher programs, as well as, the first coprehensive program for HIV positive adolescents.
