Student Success Seminar: Transition to College

Welcome to the TRiO SSS Student Success Seminar! Each Tuesday from 5PM - 7PM, TRiO SSS will examine a variety of areas that are imperative for the successful transition into the college environment. Some key elements will be how to experience academic success early, exploring different career paths, understanding different learning styles that are unique to each person, and gaining proper leadership skills for promoting student success.

By the end of this seminar, you should have a better understanding of the role and expectations of being a college student and young professional. Specifically, you will…

  • Possess a greater understanding of how the college curriculum differs from one’s high school expectations
  • Be able to identify and describe a variety of learning strategies that best fit the individual
  • Be able to think about and identify proper leadership skills   
  • Understand the different components to being around a diverse student climate.
