Michael Payne Professor Michael Payne joined the faculty in 1990. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Syracuse University and has over 20 years experience teaching in public administration. He has also served as a practitioner in local government as a Deputy City Manager and has served as a management consultant for various nonprofit agencies. He has taught a wide range of graduate and undergraduate courses but specializes in nonprofit management, health economics, public finance and policy analysis. His recent research interests center on government and nonprofit finance issues. Recent publications focus on the economic impact of nonprofits in Kent County, community foundation finance and corporate philanthropy. Professor Payne has a specific interest in international public administration and has taken students groups to London and Toronto for international summer programs. |
