As part of a large, multi-specialty physician group, John Foster is required to provide accurate and timely financial statements, budgets and variance reports. He also uses sophisticated software to translate complex data into meaningful ad hoc reports and pro formas. These documents are used for decision support when evaluating physician recruitment, capital purchases, new business ventures and participation with various insurance carriers.

"Meeting the needs of the corporation, dozens of sites and over 150 physicians demands a high level of knowledge related to policy, contracts, law, hospitals, coding, reimbursement and payers as well as finance. Grand Valley State University's MPA program helped me to acquire this knowledge and apply it to better serve our physicians, managers, and administrators. This has led to gaining a greater responsibility and respect within the corporation, as well as financial rewards. I feel I have developed into an integral member of the MMPC team in large part due to my MPA degree from GVSU."
