Meet Our Consultants:

Brandan Bilski:

Brandan is one of our lead consultants with a major in Philosophy. Well-informed about political and controversial events, Brandan has a passion for debate. In his free time, Brandan enjoys reading poetry, singing opera, and studying Latin. He would one day like to be a leader of his own Non-profit organization, but he wants to go to law school first.  In the famous words of one of Brandan’s favorite speakers, John F. Kennedy, “When power leads men towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man’s concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.”

Jordan Boze:

Jordan Boze is one of our lead consultants at the GVSU Speech Lab. Aside from being a well-traveled Broadcasting Major, Jordan is also a prominent member of GV TV. Jordan is an avid fan of British Football and his favorite team is Manchester United, which is fitting, because Manchester is where he would like to live. Jordan specializes in video and group presentations and has perfected his secret technique which allows him to shake his nerves before speaking.  Jordan lives by the wise words of Ralph Waldo Emerson; “To be great is to be misunderstood,” so set up an appointment with Jordan today and work on greatness together.

Lena Williams:

A double major in Communication Studies and Philosophy, Lena has a broad outlook when it comes to the world and those around her.  “The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself,” a quote by Friedrich Nietzche, is one of Lena’s favorites.  A fan of the Pistons and the Mavericks, Lena loves basketball, which was even the topic of her first speech.

Chad Rodgers:

“What is free time?” Senior consultant Chad Rodgers keeps busy working on his double major in Film & Video and Advertisements/Public Relations. He considers his work his hobby, which is why you can catch him filming, pitching scripts, or heading up meetings as President of the Advertising Club on campus. If he could live anywhere in the world, Chad would live in Sicily, but he would never go a day without coffee. He’d love to have lunch with James Dean, but its Brad Pitt’s words in Fight Club that Chad identifies with, “It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.”

Kelsey Hines:

Lou Holtz said that, “Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it,” which is what Kelsey, one of our Lead Consultants, focuses on when faced with a challenge. Kelsey is currently in her third year at GV and is studying Communications with a minor in Speech-Language Pathology. When she isn’t watching Netflix, Kelsey enjoys rock climbing and partaking in GV’s Loud & Queer group on campus, but no matter where she is going, you can bet she has a cup of coffee in hand.

Ari Zucker:

Ari is a sophomore Communication Studies Major who enjoys living by the famous words of Mae West, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”  If Ari could live anywhere in the world it would be Toronto Canada, even though his favorite sports team is the Detroit Red Wings. Ari couldn’t spend a day without his computer, unless he was traveling back in time to witness The First Continental Congress.

Ashlee Wagner:

Not a fan of the snow, Ashlee is currently a senior Advertising and Public Relations major looking to move someplace warm like Hawaii. She is an active member of To Write Love on Her Arms and The Wesley Fellowship. In her free time she enjoys playing with her pet hamster Peanut, but she never misses a Red Wings game. It may not be her favorite book, but her favorite quote comes from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, “I knew who I was this morning, but I’ve changed a few times since then.”

Jake Nuechterlein:

Known by some as “DJ Jakey Jake,” Jake Nuechterlein is no stranger to performing in front crowds. A member of two bands, Mars Hill Church praise team, and a DJ for weddings, Jake couldn’t live a day without music. Jake would love to shake his grove thang with Gatsby during the Roaring Twenties, but he would be satisfied with just moving to LA. Not even living in LA wouldn’t stop Jake from cheering for Michigan Football and Basketball though, as he bleeds blue and maze.

Ellen Packard:

Pursuing an Advertising and Public Relations major with a minor in Business, not only makes Ellen a professional at communicating, but it also makes her an expert when it comes to Client based speeches. If she could witness any historical event, Ellen would have loved to have seen Woodstock. She would enjoy having lunch with soccer star David Beckham, which makes sense because if she could live anywhere it would be England. Come and say Ello, to Ellen today!

Kent Redford:

When he’s not reading or running, Kent enjoys taking a step back from the action and watching some of his favorite sports teams like the Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons. Working on his Advertising and Public Relations Major and Business Minor, Kent is no stranger to important meetings, which is probably why he would love to travel back in time to witness the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Kent wouldn’t stay in 1776 for long though, as he couldn’t go a night without his fan to put him to sleep.

Michelle Marinos:

Michelle is a junior Advertising and Public Relations major with a minor in Business. Her first speech was a informative speech on Greek Weddings. In her free time she enjoys photography, dancing, baking, and watching too much Netflix. Michelle wouldn’t mind living in a big city, preferably New York or Paris, but if she could have lunch with anyone she would love to grab a simple burger and milkshake with a young John Travolta (aka Danny Zuko).

Isaac Simon:

“I discovered at a very early age that if I talked long enough I could make anything wrong or right. So either I’m God, or truth is relative. In either case BOOYAH!” Originally stated by character Jeff Winger from the television show Community, GV senior Isaac enjoys applying this quote to all of his speeches. With a double major in Psychology and Communication Studies, Isaac brings a unique way of thinking to the Speech Lab. Isaac’s specializes in non-verbal communication and discourse analysis, but he is also a film buff too. When he isn’t playing with one of his two dogs, Isaac can be found in the Office of Undergraduate Research as he is a student scholar there.
