This workshop focuses on the well-being of minorities living in neglected, urban areas. Profiles and discussion of the residents include life-expectancy, disease, environmental quality, poverty and other issues that affect quality of life and health. Public policy is also discussed and it's impact on health is examined. A model for civic engagement and community activism is presented as a model for change.
