Kent County Tax Credit Coalition ~ Show Me the Money Day
January 31st, 10:00am-4:00pm
Show Me the Money Day is a statewide event in Michigan coordinated by the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM) that kicks off the tax season and promotes access to free financial resources, affordable products, & services, and financial education classes. Grand Rapids' 4th annual event is hosted by the Kent County Tax Credit Coalition (KCTCC), CRA Association, and Sterling Massey State Farm.  The event will be held at Alger Middle School and is in need of 10-15 volunteers to help with set-up, tear down, distributing and collecting surveys, lunch, and supporting workshop facilitators. Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan ~ Inside Outing
February 6th, 10:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-3:00pm

Join us to volunteer for the Inside Outing Beat the winter blahs with an evening of food, fun, and friendly competition on our 21 hole, indoor miniature golf course. Volunteers are needed to assist in setting up the miniature golf course for the participants! All proceeds benefit the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan - providing people with Down syndrome the support and services needed to lead happy, healthy, meaningful lives. Latin Americans United for Progress ~ Hispanic Youth Leadership Conference
February 10th, 7:00am-3:00pm 

Now in its 7th year, this event is designed to help Hispanic students identify the skills and talents needed in order to secure a profession in the future. The conference will also teach students how to prepare for higher level education such as with a college or technical school. IMPORTANT: There is a MANDATORY training session for ALL volunteers on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 9:30am. During this training session any questions or concerns will be answered and a thorough explanation of the tasks will be given. Please meet at the front entrance of the DeVos Fieldhouse (222 Fairbanks Avenue, Holland, MI 49423) On Tuesday, February 10, volunteers are expected to show up on time at the front entrance of the DeVos Fieldhouse at 7am. There will be a room provided to leave any belongings you may have. Tasks include: helping with registration at the start of the conference and seating the students, providing directions between workshops or other key locations, answering questions that the students may have, and reacting accordingly to any possible situation. GRTV ~ WYCE - Jammies XVI

WYCE's Jammies XVI is an awards ceremony and showcase that will honor and celebrate the best regional music WYCE was fortunate enough to receive and play in 2014. The event has over 20 local bands on 2 stages and takes place at the Intersection Lounge. Future Alumni Association - GVS(You) Week Thank You Note Writing

Grand Rapids Symphony ~ 5th Grade Concerts

East Hills Council of Neighbors~ 10th Annual Winter Beer Festival
February 27th 2:00pm-6:30pm
The East Hills Council of Neighbors has helped organize a group of volunteers for the annual Winter Beer Festival at Fifth Third Ballpark. Over 80 Michigan breweries attend this event. This is the first year this festival is over two days. The Michigan Brewers Guild donates to the East Hills Council of Neighbors for the organizing work we do with volunteers for this festival. Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital ~ Griffs Sled Hockey Classic Home Tournament
March 6th-8th, 9:00am-6:00pm

GVSU's Kutsche Office of Local History~ Local History Roundtable
March 26th 8:30am-7:00pm
The goal with the meeting is to bring together interested community members, students, educators, librarians, archivists, museum staff/curators, and representatives from historical societies who share an interest in local history. The theme of this year’s meeting is “Food, Farm, and Table.” We are focusing why food matters, past and present. It will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Grand Rapids Public Library from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. A business dinner meeting for library, archives, museum, and historical society professionals will follow the Roundtable, concluding at 7 p.m. Volunteer responsibilities may include assisting with registration and check-in, help providing directions and seating assistance to attendees, assisting with set-up and take-down, among other things. GVSU Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship ~ Student Scholars Day

Student Scholars Day (SSD) is held once each year to celebrate the scholarship and creative work performed by GVSU students. The day showcases faculty-mentored student work, shared through many venues, including (but not limited to) oral presentations, discussion and panel sessions, fine arts exhibits and performances, and poster presentations. Volunteer positions include registration table (register students, give out nametags, distribute schedules, etc), session host (You will be in the classroom to welcome and introduce the student presenters just before they give their 15-minute presentations. In order to keep the presentations running smoothly, you'll have cue cards on hand to let the presenters know when it's time to wind down their talk), greeter (welcome and direct guests),and set-up/tear down. American Red Cross ~ Hometown Heroes

Each year, the American Red Cross of West Michigan celebrates community heroes who inspire us through their commitment to service and their recognition of the humanity of their neighbors down the street, across the country, and around the world. Help us honor these well deserving individuals!
