Site Leader for Make a Difference Day
Over 30 students are recruited each year to lead a group of GVSU students during the service projects in the community on Make a Difference Day (the fourth Saturday of October annually).
CSLC Ambassador (NEW for 2011-2012)
CSLC Ambassadors are individuals who have demonstrated a passion for community service and excellent public speaking skills. These students will coordinate and facilitate speaking engagements to spread the message of service and communicate the resources available through the CSLC.
Service-Learning Cohort (NEW for 2011-2012)
Registered student organization service chairs (& other officers) who desire to strengthen their organization's community service efforts are invited to participate in this group. Please check back for more information.
College Positive Volunteer (CPV) Facilitator
College students interested in working with youth and committed to creating a college going culture should participate in this nationally recognized training. Trained students have the opportunity to spread the message on campus & in the community through outreach and presentations.
Service & Leadership Intern
Undergraduate students can apply to serve as an intern to gain valuable experience and academic credit (optional, and depending upon major/minor). Interns assist with programs and events coordinated by the CSLC and Laker Leadership Programs.
The CSLC employs a small number of student employees that assist the constituents of the CSLC and provide support for related projects. Recruiting and hiring student staff is done in conjunction with the Office of Student Life. Application materials are typically due prior to Spring Break and hiring decisions are made prior to the end of the Winter semester. For more information, refer to the Office of Student Life.
