GMAT Preparation

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a requirement for the graduate business programs. The GMAT is a test of analytical reasoning. Consequently, individuals who have been practicing in fields outside of business should be at no particular disadvantage. However, the Seidman College has found that this test can be a hurdle for students, especially those who have been practicing in fields where algebra is not routinely applied.

To learn more visit www.mba.com.

To assist you, the Seidman College offers a GMAT preparation course at no charge. The course is offered several times a year. It covers test-taking skills and techniques and helps you develop your own study plan around the quantitative, verbal, and writing components of the test. For more information, please contact the Graduate Business Office at go2gvmba@gvsu.edu or register.

For a more in-depth preparation at a reasonable cost, GVSU offers a 6-week online preparation course. Click here for more information and to enroll.

There are a variety of additional preparation tools that you can utilize. Below are some examples that current students have used.

We also recommend purchasing a GMAT preparation book that includes links (or a CD) with practice tests.

Additionally, you don't have to wait to take the GMAT to get started on the Seidman MBA program! If you haven't acquired business knowledge and skills through previous business course work, you may enroll with the Seidman College of Business as a non-degree-seeking student for up to three foundation courses.
