How to Pursue Academic Credit for Internships

Deadline for the Spring/Summer 2024 Semester is April 20 by 5 p.m.
All steps below must be completed to have your internship experience count as academic credit. Note that most applications take 5 business days to process.  Late submissions or incomplete internship applications will not be accepted, and the deadline will not be extended.

Step #1: Meet with a Seidman Academic Advisor

Meet with an Academic Advisor in Seidman to determine if you are eligible and if internship credit is an option for your personal graduation plan. Schedule an appointment by visiting this webpageGeneral business majors are REQUIRED to have a for-credit internship to graduate.

Step #2: Read the policy and approval process

Review the policy.  Internships for credits are more than just “jobs,” they are new learning experiences equivalent to taking a 490-college level class.  Not all jobs qualify for credit, and the experience must be new, not a job you have already done/are doing.  For more information on internships and how to be approved, please visit our website.
