Congratulations to the Winners of the 2023 ACG Cup!

Congratulations to Ryan Gilmore, Theodore Rounds, Justin Quinn, Griffin Jacques, and Justin Farrish, all part of the Grand Valley’s Seidman Investment Portfolio Student Organization (IPO) team “Penny Wise” who took top honors at the Association for Corporate Growth’s annual ACG Cup held in the L. William Seidman Center on February 25.
During the intercollegiate business case competition, students analyzed business cases and presented strategies involving merger and acquisition alternatives, valuation, capital markets, finance options and corporate strategy. The simulation teams engaged in is designed to provide real-world, hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions.
Penny Wise competed with 25 teams from 13 different colleges and universities in Michigan, Minnesota, and New York. As the winners of the 2023 ACG Cup, the team took home a cash prize of $8,000.
“We are so grateful for this opportunity to participate and take first place in such a phenomenal competition,” a team-issued statement said. “Thank you to Grand Valley's Seidman College of Business, and the Seidman Investment Portfolio Organization and all the opportunities they have provided us!”
