Why did you choose to attend Grand Valley?
The sense of community. Everyone was very friendly and it felt like home. Even though I had never visited the campus, I felt really drawn to Grand Valley. They personally called me to tell me that I was accepted. Being an international student is exciting and terrifying. They made me feel really comfortable coming to Grand Valley.

What was the highlight of your Grand Valley experience?
One of the highlights for me was being a multicultural assistant with the Office of Housing and Residence Life. I had the opportunity to learn from so many people and also to contribute to the lives of new freshman.

How have you benefited from Grand Valley's liberal education foundation?
I learned so much about the world and learned how to work with others. I think I really benefited from that. Psychology courses especially taught me to be patient with other people and that you have to adapt to work well with others.

How has Grand Valley helped you achieve your goals?
I did research through the Honors College for my senior project. If you don't have research experience, it's hard to get into graduate school. Grand Valley helped me by encouraging me to do research and giving me the opportunity.

What advice would you give to prospective students?
They should definitely come in and take a look at the campus. It's a beautiful campus. Talk to Admissions advisors and also talk to professors in the department. I think they will be very pleased with what Grand Valley has to offer.
